A donor-funded studio in Singapore

We teach AI — free — to the people the rollout leaves behind.

The Deaf community, people with disabilities, young seniors, PMETs feeling squeezed. We run free workshops, make AI-inspired art, and put on exhibitions — no jargon, no sales pitch, no one priced out. Donors cover the seats so the people who need this most don't have to.

AI is reshaping who gets to work, learn, and be heard. We're making sure the people most likely to be left out get a seat at the table.

Every wave of technology quietly draws a line: who it's built for, and who gets to catch up later. We work on the wrong side of that line on purpose — teaching the tools, plainly and patiently, to the communities the rollout usually forgets.

  • Free, and it stays free

Donors fund the seats. No one we serve ever pays to learn.

  • Built for access

Deaf-friendly, step-free, jargon-free. Designed for people, not insiders.

  • Every dollar to the work

Donations buy seats, materials, and venues — not overhead.

Who this is for

  • The Deaf community
  • People with physical disabilities
  • Young seniors
  • PMETs squeezed by AI
  • Educators & community groups
  • Anyone tired of the noise

Art, learning, AI. Minus the hype.

We make things that help people get on with AI — shows, classes, the odd workshop. The goal is for it to feel useful and a bit beautiful, and not like a sales pitch.

What we actually do sits between AI-inspired art, education, and public-facing events — meant for communities, schools, organisations, and anyone who's curious but a little tired of the noise.

We're a handful of Singapore-based finance and tech people — "young seniors", if you like — who've put money into local startups and gotten some out. We started Sagelion partly so we'd stay close to where culture, technology, and markets are actually going, and partly because we want other Singaporeans (especially the ones feeling squeezed by AI) to navigate this stretch of the digital economy with taste, rigour, and a bit of heart.

Community work. Slow, useful, hopefully built to last.

Three things, mostly.

Education

A teacher and student at a laptop, warm late-afternoon light through the window — anime-register illustration.

We teach people how to use AI — especially the folks usually left out of the tech rollout. Deaf community, people with physical disabilities, anyone who finds the jargon exhausting. We go slow, skip the buzzwords, and try not to be condescending.

Events & workshops

Interactive AI workshop

Workshops where you actually touch the tools. Less slides about AI, more sitting at a screen and making something. You leave with files, not vibes.

AI-inspired art

AI-inspired collage

We use AI to push our own work further — visual experiments, concept art, the odd branded piece. The hand is still in there somewhere, which is the point.

Always free

A free AI workshop, running again and again.

Less talking about AI. More using it.

Donors cover every seat, so the people who need this most never have to.

We take people from "wait, what's ChatGPT" to running real workflows of their own — in days, not months. We're running these regularly through 2026, so if one date doesn't fit, the next one will.

The gap.

Everyone's heard about AI. Hardly anyone's using it properly. The setup's a mess, the workflows break halfway through, and there's just too much friction in the way.

What you'll walk out with.

  • Foundation models (GPT, Gemini, Kimi) → agent frameworks (OpenClaw, LangChain, n8n) → actual business uses.
  • The difference between generative AI (which makes stuff) and agentic AI (which goes off and does stuff).
  • A full stack — from free public tools to no-code automation you can run in production.

Pain we actually help with.

  • PMETs drowning in reports.
  • Teachers buried in admin.
  • Retirees who feel a bit left behind.

Things we've actually shipped.

  • Nejilock Property AI — proof of concept.
  • FlowDaptor Operating Backbone.
  • Sagelion Grant Engine.

Security, not an afterthought.

Human in the loop, less data than you think, proper audit trails, PDPA-friendly. We're not interested in cowboy automation.

Where to start.

  • Pilot one workflow — live in 2–3 days.
  • A free consult, no strings.
  • Hand-held setup for retirees who'd rather not Google it.

The path.

Stories of Singapore — seniors capturing their National Day memories at a Sagelion workshop

May 2026 — Community

An afternoon with old friends turned into a plan for our seniors.

We spent an afternoon at a community event for seniors and, somewhere between the catching-up and the kopi, bumped into old friends we hadn't seen in years. It was the kind of day that reminds you who gets left out when technology moves fast — and how much warmth there still is in a room full of people who simply want to be included.

We left inspired. So we're turning that afternoon into something lasting: a run of community engagement activities built around our seniors. First up is Stories of Singapore on 5 August — a free workshop where we help anyone 55 and over turn their own National Day memories into short videos and music their grandchildren will actually watch. Every story matters, so it's free, like all the rest.

Kopi, code, and canvas: wiring up the back end.

Three of us, three kopis, one question — how do we wire up the back end for next year's exhibition without it falling over? Welcome to our newly minted IT department.

Thorne keeps us honest. Strategic when we need it, blunt when we need that more, and allergic to noise. We talk to Thorne whenever we want to try out new ideas.

"Beautiful work should still do the job."

Thoughtful enough for educators. Beautiful enough for audiences.

We help organisations and communities use AI without losing the human bit. Fewer gimmicks, more design, more attention paid to what actually lands in the room.

Really, what we want is for Singaporeans — especially the older crowd — to feel confident with this stuff. So they can do their work better and protect what they earn.

Fund a seat. Change who AI is for.

Every donation puts a free seat in front of someone the tech rollout left behind — an educator, a young senior, a member of the Deaf community, a PMET trying to keep up. The money goes to seats, materials, and venues. None of it gets lost in overhead.

Where every dollar goes

  • 70% — Free workshop seats
  • 20% — Materials & access support
  • 10% — Venues & exhibitions
